Overview

There are a number of "Articles" web sites. Briefly, these are searchable collections of information articles written and submitted by the surfing public. Published articles are available for republication on the web.

Authors are given full credit for their work, and can include a link to their web site within their article. When your article is published, you create a one-way link to your site.

When your article is republished, this creates another one-way link to your site (from the site that uses the article), plus a link to your article on the originating web site.

The content of Articles sites changes continually, and they are consequently crawled by search engines frequently. Use keywords in your article intelligently, and you may be surprised by how high they appear in Google search results.

The majority of republished articles are used in Blogs (where the owner needs fresh content for little effort). Blogs are similarly crawled by search engines frequently, due to their changing content.

 

Etiquette

It can be very tempting to write and publish low quality articles for the purpose of generating links with little effort. If you study the content of an Articles site, you will no doubt encounter many light-weight, and poorly drafted articles. You may even find the same article published several times (by the same author) with only minor variations to wording or content.

Resist any temptation to approach article writing cynically. Exercise professional integrity, and take the time to draft a good quality submission, which has a good chance of being republished.
